ARTISTS PAINTING ON AREA RANCHES  

Artists will be painting on private ranches these three days with no public access.

ARTIST WELCOME PARTY

Meet the 2022 EnPleinAirTEXAS Competition Artists at an informal gathering on the rooftop at the SA Museum of Fine Arts.

TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY ~ Oct. 25 – 26, 2022

All Day       SAN ANGELO PAINTING DAYS

The Competition Artists will be painting ALL around San Angelo and just outside of town. 
Locations will be announced so that the public can find the artists at specific times both days.
EVENT HEADQUARTERS at Gallery Verde, 417 S. Oakes
Open for information and for sales of some of the paintings from the weekend ranch paint days!


THURSDAY ~ Oct. 27, 2022

 RANCH EXPERIENCE with the ARTISTS

Spend a morning out on the ranch with the Artists!

$100 per person supports the museum’s educations programs for families as you spend a most interesting morning going ‘Artist-hopping’ watching the artists paint on a nearby West Texas ranch.  Enjoy a simple lunch visiting with the artists as they display their morning’s works.  You’ll be able to purchase paintings on the spot and vote for the “People’s Choice Award” painting which will be presented at the STAMPEDE on Friday night.

INTERNATIONAL WATERLILY GARDEN Morning Paint-out

10 am to 12 noon   Students from nearby Central High School and Ambleside private school will have the opportunity to watch & visit with the Competition Artists.  2 S. Park                                    

11 am to 3 pm          EPAT ARTISTS VISIT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

See the week's artwork ~ Purchase your favorites ~ Awards Announced!

It’s the first opportunity to see all the paintings from the week and visit with the artists who painted them.  Guests may purchase paintings tonight before the public opening on Saturday.  2022 Judge Michael Obermeyer will present $35,000 in cash and awards during the evening.  The Stables at Fort Concho, 210 Henry O. Flipper St.  Tickets are $100 per person and include a $100 credit towards painting purchase.  Available online and at the museum. Click here to purchase tickets.

Spend the day at Fort Concho Stables and see the award-winners from last night plus over 200 paintings created this week by the 35 EnPleinAirTEXAS Artists!  Sales benefit the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts and the artists.

 ‘MINI-PEARLS of the CONCHOS’ PAINTINGS - FIRST VIEWING!

During the week, each Competition Artist paints a small painting (‘Mini-Pearl’) that will be exhibited and for sale for the first time on Saturday at the Stables Building at a specific time to be announced closer to the event.  This is a great time to add a new artist to your collection or purchase another from your favorite and sales are usually brisk.  Awards presentation will follow that ‘Mini-Stampede’!

JUDGE’S TALK

A free talk by Awards Judge Michael Obermeyer will showcase each of the prize winners and share his reasons for selecting them.

The 2022 EnPleinAirTEXAS Event ends this evening!  Take a beautiful memory of this week home with you ~ all sales support the Children’s Education programs at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts AND the Artists!
